I believe in Nascar. Before you can even think of a nasty comment, they just passed you three times, and made more money than you do in a week. Not so skeptical now, are you? I ain’t no redneck, I am only partly southern, and yes, I love Nascar. This “fad” for me started about a couple of years ago and hasn’t stopped since. People dedicate their lives, time, and hearts into this thing we call a job, all for the ultimate prize: To win the championship.

Some of you may think that Nascar is just another sport on ESPN, but its not. People risk their lives, every Sunday, to go to victory lane. For example, Dale Earnhardt Sr. gave his life to his job. It was February 18th, 2001, at the Daytona 500, when he crashed into a wall, snapping his neck, dying instantly. This deeply affected his son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., who is currently racing in the Sprint Cup Series.

Nascar has some common qualities with other sports, especially with time consumption. Just because they only race once a week, doesn’t mean that they don’t have to train just like any other sports. Not only that, but they have to qualify before every race. They are so dedicated to their job, that they don’t even have time to be at their houses. In fact, out of 43 drivers, very few own houses (some just have trailers).

Lastly, all of their hearts go into their job and most importantly, their lifelong hobby. All of them love what they do. From age 19 to past 50, they all have the same passion. They would do anything and help any of their teammates…. And that’s not a part of the job. They really do care and that’s all that matters… besides winning the championship.

As you can see, Nascar isn’t just about turning left for hours on end. It is a sport, it is a passion, and it is their job.

Jesus has Courage

I believe that Jesus has courage and most other people would probably think so too. There is no doubt in my mind that he was ever a coward. Jesus stood up for what he believed in… even when others put him down. He never forgot why he believed what he did and he never let anyone stood in his way. He didnt deny it even when he would be put to death. He would always help people and go on his own way, whether someone was watching, or not. He had a good belief and never let people tear there way in, and make him think other wise. For this, I think that Jesus had courage.

Women’s Rights

I believe that women rights are very important. Im glad that in the United States, women have equal rights but in other countries women dont have the same rights. For five years, there have been many petitions in many states and countries, but none have been able to pass through. The women of the middle east have been given the opportunity to fight in their wars but does that really count as equal rights? The answer is no. Even though women’s rights have improved in 15 of 18 countries in the Middle East and North Africa over the past five years, nothing has even come close to what men’s rights are. I think that men and women should be treated equally because men and women are equals. So why cant they be treated the same in other countries? Only the governments of countries can control what goes on. Womens rights contain simple things like leaving the house or country or maybe even voting. It depends on religion and what country your in to determine your availability of rights as a woman. In 2005, terrorists attacked a school headmaster because he was teaching girls which is against the law in most middle eastern countries. As you can see, life for women in other countries isnt exactly a walk in the park so please respect women and be proud that you have equal rights in the United  States.
